Restorative
Practice
What is restorative practice?
Restorative practice is a form of conflict resolution and mediation. It is a voluntary process providing an opportunity to talk and communicate in a way that you decide is safe for you and everyone involved. It enables the participants to discuss the impact of any issues and allows people to ask or answer questions.
All those involved are given the chance to share their unique perspective and be empowered to find their own solution to move forward.
FAQ
Is it always face-to-face?
No. You can choose from virtual, shuttle mediation and letter writing, as well as the traditional face-to-face mediation.
How long does it take?
As long as is needed for the participants to feel able to move on.
Is there a cost involved?
There is a cost involved to pay for the time of our Accredited Practitioners. Please contact us to discuss in more detail.
“I had spoken to a number of people about my situation before W.R.A.P., but this was the first time that someone actually listened to me. It was worth going through the process just for that”
We’ve been a restorative school for a couple of years, but I hadn’t personally been involved in a restorative meeting before. It was so helpful to go through preparation before the actual meeting itself, not just for me but for the pupil as well. They did so much better than I thought they would and I think it must be down to the work of the W.R.A.P. facilitator. I think everyone should be able to do this in school, I really do think it makes a difference.
If I’m honest, I didn’t really want to do the mediation but I’m really glad I did. Things have been much better at home since going through it. I really appreciate it.
Why choose us?
All of W.R.A.P.’s practitioners are accredited by the Restorative Justice Council. Practice services, also known as mediation, are delivered by our independent RJC accredited trained facilitators.
